Product Manager – Jette

Introduction

For our client, a major player in the generic and OTC market, we are looking for a Product Manager.

Function

As Product Manager (PM), you are responsible for the development, implementation and follow-up of the marketing strategy and – communication for the generic and OTC products in portfolio, in order to maximize sales results and business profit.

The PM will report directly to the Marketing & Key Account Manager and will be accountable for managing the allocated marketing budget.

In his / her function, the PM will also ensure enhancement of the product portfolio in close collaboration with the local Head of Business BeLux, Marketing & KAM, national Sales Manager, Regulatory Affairs and the Portfolio Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Defining the marketing strategy:

  • Develop, defend, follow up and adapt the ‘strategic plan’ for the assigned product range, including identification of marketing tactics
  • Analysis of Market- and product situations, including SWOT evaluations
  • Analysis of competitors (Key Performance Measure)
  • Analysis of the ‘new molecules to launch’, objectives and sales forecast
  • Propose budgets and overview of the initiatives
  • All this based on a profound knowledge of the products, the entire pharmaceutical market and by active testing of product-related positioning and market opportunities.

Elaboration of the ‘strategic plan’, taking into account the allocated budget, by:

  • Developing documents, tools and materials for product discussions and – promotion (printings, visual aids, brochures, digital promotion, etc.)
  • Elaborating communication plans for assigned products (press, PR, direct marketing, organization of symposia, product events, TV spots, …)
  • Building a network of potential prescribers

Close collaboration with the sales team in order to achieve objectives by:

  • Clear communication of the strategic plan
  • Consulting the national Sales Manager for the elaboration and the practical implementation of the strategic plan
  • Giving information and presenting the promotional campaigns
  • Consistently providing information (oral and on paper) concerning the generic and OTC business and the products involved
  • Providing product related trainings and expertise
  • Building a relationship of trust with the sales team
  • Analyzing sales performances on a regular basis

And not forget:

  • Discuss and propose new product opportunities to the local Head of Business BeLux, Marketing & KAM, in close collaboration with the national Sales Manager, Portfolio Manager and Regulatory Affairs Department in order to enhance  and/or optimize the existing portfolio
  • Regular follow-up, analysis and reporting of the obtained results vs. objectives and presentation at management and sales meetings 
  • Identify & situate sales forecasts in close collaboration with the supply chain team in order to guarantee optimal stock management 
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & KAM in developing educational programs and product forecasts
  • Collaborate with external suppliers (f.i. publicity agency, etc) brief and follow up in terms of budget, quality, deadlines and swift deliveries.




Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (education in science or business is a plus) or equivalent by experience.
  • Minimum experience of 3 years as a medical & pharmaceutical representative is mandatory and/or 2 years as product manager, preferably in generics and OTC. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical market is mandatory. Knowledge and natural interest in scientific aspects of generic medicines and OTC business. 
  • Product launch experience and experience in developing, organizing and implementing projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting the pharmaceutical industry.
  • PC knowledge of Outlook, Salesforce+ (Deduco) and excellent knowledge MS Office.
  • Fluent knowledge of Dutch, French and English, oral as well as written.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the corporate car policy.
